John Roller, President and CEO, GTI Statia, leads the GTI Statia business with its operational facility located in the Caribbean and the head office in San Antonio, Texas. Roller has more than thirty years of experience in the terminal and pipeline business and has held a variety of executive positions with responsibility for facilities in the United States, Canada and the Caribbean.
Having worked for the previous operator NuStar Energy L.P in the position of Vice President of Marketing & Business Development and as Vice President Operations with responsibility for all domestic operations along with Point Tupper, Canada and St. Eustatius; he has a long and varied history with the GTI Statia facility and is ideally suited to continue the development of this facility.
As Vice President of Marketing and Business Development, Mr. Roller was instrumental in creating customer and organizational value and as Vice President of Operations, he created operational excellence in the terminals division including a best in industry safety, environmental and regulatory records.
Roller is committed to the community in which he lives and works and has served with and served on, non-profit organization and association Boards. Roller was a founding board member of the Jacksonville Marine Transportation Exchange and has held a variety of non-executive positions on the United Way Board and has served ILTA as a member, Treasurer and Vice Chairman. Currently he is a past Chairman of the International Liquids Terminals Association (ILTA).
Mr. Roller attended the University of MD, University Oklahoma and University of Phoenix. He is a licensed Stationary Engineer, certified Lead Assessor of Quality Systems and holds a certificate in Economic Evaluation and Investment Decision Methods from the Colorado School of Mines.
Jim Calvert serves as the Chief Commercial Officer of GTI Statia responsible for the development and growth of the terminal. Calvert, has 30 years of experience in the terminal industry and a proven track record in operational excellence, sales and marketing.
Calvert has a long history with the GTI Statia facility, having held the position of General Manager with ultimate responsibility for the safe day-to-day operations from 1990 through 2002 under the previous operator NuStar Energy
Subsequent to this he went on to hold a variety of positions within the terminal and marine fuels market with key players such as Kaneb LMP and Valero LP where he organized and initiated strategic business partnerships with Saudi Aramco, PetroChina, Vitol and PDVSA to name but a few.
Since 2008, Calvert was VP of International Business Development for NuStar with ultimate responsibility for the commercial performance of the GTI Statia Terminal and various other NuStar midstream assets. During that time, he was instrumental in attracting and maintaining customers, significantly increasing storage revenue and the expansion of the GTI Statia Terminal’s bunkering operation.
